Since Marcus Rule founded the company in 1997, Rule Financial has drawn on the advice of some extraordinary individuals. Rule's current Non-Executive team of legends has between them more than a century of experience in the IT and financial services industry.
Ian Jackson
Ian Jackson has more than 40 years' experience in the IT industry, primarily in the financial sector. He gained his basic training with IBM Australia before coming to the UK to work first for the British Gas Council and then for Logica. He next became M.D. of Logica Australia, before returning to London in 1989 as M.D. of Logica Finance. He joined Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in 1992 to head their Global Finance Sector. He was then invited onto Rule Financial's Non-Executive board with responsibility for strategy and subsequently served as interim CEO between June 2009 and February 2010.
Richard Little
Richard Little began his career as a salesman with Burroughs, and in 1982 founded Braid Systems, a software house specialising in financial messaging. He was CEO of Braid until its sale to Mercator in 1999, having established the business across Asia and the USA. The same year he became Chairman of the Dovetail Group, a US-based software house developing payment and settlement systems for large financial institutions, and in 2000 became a Non-Executive director of Rule Financial. Richard has a degree from Cambridge University.
Ges Whitmore
Ges Whitmore has run successful businesses in the Financial Services sector for the last 24 years. A career that saw him grow his company from start-up to a workforce of 225 culminated in the award of Entrepreneur of the Year,1999, before he reversed it into a Plc in 2000, and was appointed CEO of the resulting business - The Exchange. Ges then oversaw it becoming the best performing stock on the LSE, achieving a valuation of £88m, before successfully selling the company to Marlborough Sterling in 2001. Ges served as a main board director for Marlborough Sterling until early 2004 and joined the Rule Financial Non-Executive board in January 2004.
Matthew Harrison
Previously Head of Global repo IT at Deutsche Bank, Matthew Harrison founded the Martini trading platform for bond and equity securities financing, which he sold to Sungard in 2004. He joined Rule in 2008 and was appointed to the Non-Executive Board in 2009 .
